PILTRIQUITRÓN HILL
We are the ONLY HOSTEL IMMERSED IN CERRO PILTRIQUITRÓN, surrounded by forest and just an 8-minute drive from El Bolsón town center.
El Mirador Hostel is located in the VILLA TURISMO neighborhood, on CERRO PILTRIQUITRÓN, the most emblematic mountain in the El Bolsón valley. The SCULPTED FOREST (“BOSQUE TALLADO”) and the mountain itself are right behind us – they’re our BACKYARD.
From its summit, you can appreciate the entire mountain range with views reaching as far as Cerro Tronador in Bariloche, Tres Picos in Cholila, Osorno volcano in Chile, and the entire El Bolsón Valley.
Departing directly from EL MIRADOR HOSTEL, you can find activities like trekking of all difficulty levels, rock climbing, paragliding, VISITING THE SCULPTED FOREST, ENJOYING THE REFUGE, AND REACHING THE SUMMIT OF CERRO PILTRIQUITRÓN AT 2269 METERS ABOVE SEA LEVEL. It’s a unique place, offering THE BEST PANORAMIC VIEW OF EL BOLSÓN VALLEY AND THE ANDEAN REGION.
¿HOW TO GET TO EL MIRADOR HOSTEL?
We’re 3.5 km from the town center, about an 8-minute drive.
To reach the hostel, take Route 40 South (about 2 km from the center) until you arrive at “Subida al Cerro Piltriquitrón.” This street is located between Km 1913 and 1914 of Route 40, directly in front of “ELOY” greengrocer. Then, take this gravel road uphill for 1500 meters, following the signs for EL MIRADOR HOSTEL.
Do not take “Subida 3 Cipreses”. While your GPS might suggest this route, it’s more challenging for low-clearance cars (though not impossible).
If you’re walking and arrive at the Via Bariloche Bus Terminal, you’ll find a “La Anónima” supermarket at the intersection of SAN MARTIN and DORREGO streets (3 blocks from where you get off) to buy anything you need before heading up. And if you’re carrying a lot of luggage and it’s your first time visiting EL MIRADOR HOSTEL, we recommend taking a taxi (remis) from “REMISES PILTRIQUITRON” (also on SAN MARTIN and DORREGO street, right next to the carousel, on the opposite diagonal to the “La Anónima” supermarket).
